Experienced Mediator and Collaborative Law Attorney

In addition to my decades of experience, I have extensive experience and specialized training in both collaborative law and mediation. I have been designated a certified family law mediator in California. I use my experience, training and skills to help clients effectively resolve divorce, child custody, visitation and other family law matters through collaborative law methods or mediation.

  • Mediation: Mediation is a method of ADR in which the parties come together in attempt to reach an agreement on decisions within divorce. I meet with the couple (who each may or may not have a consulting attorney). As a certified mediator, I serve as a neutral third party who can identify the issues and facilitate creative discussions to achieve a resolution. Once an agreement is met, I can draft the necessary paperwork required for formalize the agreement. Divorce mediation is typically the most efficient and inexpensive method for resolving a divorce or other family dispute.
  • Collaborative law: The collaborative divorce process is a method of ADR in which each party has a lawyer and everyone involved agrees that the matter will be resolved outside of court. If the matter proceeds to trial, the collaborative divorce lawyers cannot represent their clients in court. Under collaborative law methods, the individuals seeking divorce, and their respective attorneys, meet in attempt to resolve family law conflicts. I work with a coach to help guide you through the divorce process and to help foster discussions and potential resolution in collaborative family law.

Resolving family law matters through collaborative law or mediation enables clients to resolve overwhelming decisions without the added expense or emotional setback of an adversarial hearings or trials. The decisions made in divorce will impact the rest of your life and the lives of your children. It can be difficult to place such important decisions in the hands of a judge.
